I am a wife, a mother of two, a clinical pediatric health psychologist, and a university professor.  Creativity, to me, is fundamental to living and learning in and out of the classroom.  I am bent on instilling creative confidence and an innovative spirit in my students and colleagues.

Rockhurst University classrooms have been my home and palette since 1998. Prior to that I worked as a civilian psychologist for the US Air Force and the VA Medical system.  Currently, I am also pursuing a Master's degree in Organizational Behavior from the Helzburg School of Business at Rockhurst University.
In addition to my classroom activities, I serve as the Innovation Academy Director, a new program beginning in fall 2017 at my home institution.  I also have the honor of faculty sponsor to our University Innovation Fellows and our campus organization, Innovate at the Rock.

My advocacy for creativity and innovation on the university campus has opened many interesting doors including consulting with non-profit organizations and other universities.  My outside endeavors have ranged from creating a Design Thinking workshop for high school students as part of the White House initiative on Creating Community Solutions around mental health to consulting with the Center for Design Research at the University of Kansas on facilitating care for diabetics.

My other passion is ancestral health.  I serve as an editor for the Journal of Evolution and Health and greatly enjoy teaching about and living an ancestral lifestyle.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, travel, spending time with my family and two dogs, and cooking.
